How many gunas should match?
Tradition sets 18 of 36 as the minimum. 18 to 24 is acceptable, 25 to 32 very good and above 32 excellent. The score is a starting point; astrologers also weigh doshas, their cancellations and both full charts.
What is Nadi dosha?
Nadi dosha arises when both partners share the same nadi (Adi, Madhya or Antya), which scores 0 of 8. Several classical exceptions cancel it, such as the same rashi with different nakshatras.
What is Bhakoot dosha?
Bhakoot dosha arises when the moon signs sit 2/12, 5/9 or 6/8 from each other. It is commonly cancelled when the two sign lords are friends or the same planet.
Does the boy's and girl's order matter?
Yes. Some kootas, such as Varna, Gana and Tara, are counted from one partner to the other, so enter the boy's details first and the girl's second.
